Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data multiplexer that transmits non-streaming data through the use of idle bands of streaming data to effectively utilize a limited channel capacity.
SOLUTION: The data multiplexer 10 that multiplexes streaming data such as video data 3 and audio data 5 and non-streaming data such as text data 9 and still picture data 7 and outputs multiplexed data at a prescribed output rate, outputs non-streaming data at idle bands where no streaming data are in existence.
