The data processing apparatus includes: a calculation part which calculates, when conditions for checking a receiving status of the alternative station of a broadcasting station according to first setting data are established, second setting data for a receiving device to receive a broadcasting signal of the alternative station based on alternative station data showing the alternative station to be output from the receiving device which receives the broadcasting signal of the broadcasting station according to the first setting data; a control part which controls the receiving device so that a voice signal to be generated by the receiving device from the broadcasting signal of the broadcasting station according to the first setting data is muted when the second setting data is calculated; and a setting part which sets the second setting data to the receiving device as the first setting data after the voice signal is muted.
