PURPOSE: To reduce the burden of the user by inputting required business contents and operating method with the user in the conversational mode and translating automatically these contents to job control statements successively to store them and selecting job control statements as required.

CONSTITUTION: A control part 1 displays data of a forms number, a reading method, an output method, a correcting method, etc., which are read from a data input part 7, on a display part 2. The user performs designations successively on an operation panel part 3 while referring to displayed data, and designated contents are translated automatically to job control statements successively on a basis of designations by the device side to generate an aggregation of job control statements called a catalog file, and this catalog file is registered in an external storage part 4. Meanwhile, the user registers preliminarily required catalogs in the catalog file in accordance with business and selects these catalogs at a data processing execution time to execute easily a preliminarily designated operating method. Thus, it is unnecessary that the user generates job control statements, and the burden of the user in reduced to execute data processings without errors.
