Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve processing performance by using plural central processing units by providing each of microprocessor with a local memory which can be accessed from both the microprocessor and a system bus, and storing the local memory with an information group of high frequency of access from the microprocessor. CONSTITUTION:Each microprocessor 10 is provided with the fast local memory 13 which can be accessed from both the microprocessor 10 and system bus and has physical addresses unique in a data processing system in the same package unit with the microprocessor 10, i.e. on the same board. The memory control program of the operating system of each microprocessor 10 assigns storage units (page) of higher access frequency to the local memory 13 placed under the control of the corresponding microprocessor 10 and the corresponding page in a main storage device 4 is deleted. The local memory 13 can be accessed at a high speed and prevented from being deadlocked by the bus arbitration function that the micro processor 10 has.
