Abstract:
PURPOSE:To store a picture data as sentence information of a processing unit and to display effectively the read picture information by compressing the picture information read by an image scanner at each line and transmitting the compressed data and the original data to the processing unit. CONSTITUTION:A main CPU20 is provided to the data processing unit 4; and a display controller 22, printer controller 24, editing program 26, sentence memory 27, and a floppy disc controller 28 are connected to the CPU20. A slave CPU30 and a bus controller 36 of the image scanner 5 are controlled to the CPU20. The picture data is read by an optical read section of the scanner 5, a coding circuit 35 compresses the picture information at each line and the compressed picture information is transmitted to the CPU20 together with the original data. Then the picture information data is stored in the memory 27 as the sentence information and the picture information read is displayed on a CRT23 effectively by the control of the CPU20.
