Abstract:

PURPOSE: To save power consumption by performing the application/interruption control of a supply power source to an option slot part, and supplying a power source only as necessary.

CONSTITUTION: A program 1 issues an instruction to apply/interrupt the supply power source to each of the option slot parts 51-5n at a data processor main body 2. A power source part 3 always supplies the power source also to the data processor main body 2. Also, a switch part 4 can perform the application/ interruption of the supply power source to an arbitrary one of the option slot parts 51-5n by receiving control by the program 1 and turning on/off switching devices 41-4n selectively. In such a manner, no power source is supplied to an unused option slot part, which saves the power consumption.
