A reception unit 3 transmits a data stream obtained by receiving a digital broadcast program to a mother board 1 via a connection bus B. The mother board 1 stores TS packets including data representative of I pictures in compliance with the MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) form among TS packets included in the data stream to a contents storage internal memory 33 of the reception unit 3 under the control of a contents recording reproducing program and stores the other TS packets to a mother board storage 2. In the case of reproducing the contents, the mother board 1 reads the TS packets indicative of the I pictures from the contents storage internal memory 33 under the control of the contents recording reproducing program, reads the other TS packets from the mother board storage device 2, restores the original data stream and reproduces the contents.
