Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch data transfer directions in a device which has a bidirectional data transfer function, i.e., a data receiving function and a data supply function.
SOLUTION: A host computer logs in an image supply device such as a scanner which is connected through a serial bus (S800-1) and inverts flow control of data transfer by issuing a reverse (Reverse) command (S800-2). The image supply device opens a transfer channel through an open channel (OpenChannel) command (S800-6), performs block transfer of image data (S800-8 to S800-100, closes the transfer channel through a close channel (CloseChannel) command (S800-11) and inverts the flow control of data transfer through a reverse (Reverse) command (S800-13).
