Abstract:
An embodiment of this application provides a data transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a base station, a random access preamble sequence sent by a terminal; and sending, by the base station, a media access control MAC packet data unit PDU to the terminal based on the random access preamble sequence, where the MAC PDU includes a type indication field, and the type indication field is used to indicate a manner in which the terminal transmits data in first uplink information. In this embodiment of this application, a data transmission delay can be reduced.
