PURPOSE: To update a lot of data at high speed by simultaneously providing a successive updating system and a batch updating system in the same system.

CONSTITUTION: According to a data updating request from a program 2-3, a data classifying means 2-4 refers a characteristic definition table 2-2, classifies updated data and stores them in a successive updating means 2-5 and a temporary saving means 2-6. The successive updating means 2-5 successively stores the updated data, which are classified by the data classifying means 2-4, in a peripheral storage 2-7. The temporary saving means 2-6 temporarily saves the classified updated data in a temporary saved data storing area 2-8 and according to normal end information from the program 2-3, a batch updating means 2-9 executes the batch storage of the temporarily saved data, which are stored in the temporary saved data storing area 2-8, into the peripheral storage 2-7. Thus, a lot of data can be updated at high speed.
