PURPOSE: To process data on the Christian Era. without extending the area of the part of the Christian Era. by providing this date conversion system with files having dates, a table and a program and processing the data on the Christian Era. by a specific conversion method.
CONSTITUTION: When a terminal user inputs date data from a keyboard 3 in a system provided with files having dates, a table and a program and storing lower tow digits of the part of the Christian Era. a CPU 1 judges whether or not the part of the Christian Era. of the date data is more than 2000 A.D. In the case of more than 2000 A.D., the CPU 1 retrieves the table by using the lower 2nd digit part of the Christian Era. of the date data in an input area as a key and transfers its corresponding hexadecimal digit to a key area. A data base 2 is read by the use of the key area or a data area, the lower 2nd digit of the Christian Era. of the read date data is converted from a hexadecimal digit to a decimal digit and the converted result is transferred to a work area. The date conversion processing is performed by the use of the work area in a program.
