To simplify the construction of a davit type boat lifting device.

The davit type boat lifting device 5 comprises a pair of columnar cradles 12 to be turnably connected to a mother ship 1, a hydraulic cylinder 21 for driving the cradles 12 with their turnable ends turned from the inside of the mother ship 1 to the outside, and a pair of wire ropes 7 to be delivered from the turnable ends of the cradles 12. The cradles 12 are turned and a mounted boat 4 lifted via the wire ropes 7 is carried into and out of the mother ship 1. Beam connection beams 13, 14 are provided for connecting the cradles 12 and a pair of hydraulic cylinders 21 are provided in parallel to the cradles 12 so that the hydraulic cylinders 21 sufficiently extending in a turned condition can support the cradles 12.
