Abstract:
The photographic film is wound on a hollow spindle (4) located between two cassette flanges (2,3), in which it is supported on hollow stubs (35,55). One axle bearing has a sealed construction to prevent the reel turning when transported. When the cassette is loaded into the equipment, the axle seal is broken enabling normal use. The rotation block comprises interlocking gear teeth and a strip of plastics, which is broken when the reel is inserted.
