To prevent a DC electric motor from being driven in an abnormal state in which the motor is not reversely rotated.
A controller 8 of a DC electric motor control device 10 operates a motor driving circuit 7 to control a normal rotation or a reverse rotation of a DC electric motor 21. An abnormality determination part 8a determines whether an abnormality exists while the controller 8 controls the DC electric motor 21. In advance of performing normal rotation control of the DC electric motor 21, the controller 8 performs the reverse rotation control of the DC electric motor 21 for a predetermined time using the motor driving circuit 7, where the normal rotation control of the DC electric motor 21 is performed only when the abnormality determination part 8a determines that no abnormality exists. In advance of performing the reverse rotation control of the DC electric motor 21, the controller 8 performs the normal rotation control of the DC electric motor 21 for a predetermined time using the motor driving circuit 7, where the reverse rotation control of the DC electric motor 21 is performed only when the abnormality determination part 8a determines that no abnormality exists.
