Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a DC high voltage generator in which the ripple and noise can be removed remarkably from the DC high output voltage.
CONSTITUTION: AC voltage from an AC power supply 1 is subjected to amplitude regulation by means of an amplitude regulator 10 before being fed through a booster transformer 2 to a Cockcroft-Walton circuit 3. A high voltage generated from the Cockcroft-Walton circuit 3 is smoothed through first, second and third filter columns 4, 5 18. Fluctuation components superposed on the voltage generated from a high voltage generator are detected through a second filter column 5 which feeds a detection signal negatively back to the final stage of the first filter column 4 through a high frequency band amplifier 16 and an intermediate frequency band amplifier 17. A fluctuation component signal detected by the third filter column 18 is fed back negatively to means 10 for controlling the amplitude of an AC voltage being fed to the Cockcroft-Walton circuit 3 through a low frequency band amplifier 19.
