To provide a DC motor which is rotated by irradiation of light.
When a photoelectric conversion element 20B is irradiated with a laser light L, a photo current generated in the element 20B is supplied to an armature coil 10, and torque is generated in the direction shown in figure in this DC motor. When the armature coil 10 makes 1/4 rotation and becomes vertical to a magnetic field H, an insulating part 32 is irradiated instantaneously with the laser light L, and then a photoelectric conversion element 20A is irradiated. Until the armature coil 10 makes 1/2 rotation and becomes again vertical to the magnetic field H, a photo current having the direction opposite to the photo current generated in the element 20B flows in the armature coil 10. As a result, torque shown by figure is generated. This phenomena is repeated and rotation of the DC motor is continued.
