Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor capable of certainly preventing generation of arc without causing size increase or weight increase of a rotor in a DC motor having a commutator and a brush.SOLUTION: A DC motor 100 is provided with: a brush; a rotor 103 rotatably arranged to the brush; and a commutator 110 which supplies a power supply potential 140 to coils 102a, 102b, 102c by sliding and contacting at least a part of the brush while rotating with the rotor, in which the brush is provided with: a pair of main brushes 112, 114; and a pair of sub-brushes 118, 120, the main brushes connect the coils with each of the power supply potential and a ground potential 131 by sliding and contacting the commutator, at least one of the pair of main brushes is connected with the power supply potential and the ground potential via a switching element 128, the sub-brushes supply a drive potential 135 for controlling on/off of the switching element to the switching element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
