The rotor 41 disposed inside the armature 21 has a rotational axis 42 and a rotor core 43 fixed thereto. Slip rings 64, 65 connected to a power supply are disposed on one side in the axial direction of the rotor core 43. A plurality of segments 32 are disposed on the other side while being connected to the armature coil 23 of the armature 21, together with a commutator 31 having a connecting line 33 for electrically connecting the segments 32 separated in the peripheral direction. A compound brush 50 is integrated in such a structure that power-supply brushes 51a, 52a and commutation brushes 51b, 52b are connected by metallic conductors 51c, 52c, is held by a first and a second brush holders 46, 47 disposed inside the rotor core 43, and is compressively brought into contact with the slip rings 64, 65 and the commutator 31 by compressive coil springs 71, 72.
