Abstract:
To accurately predict a lifetime of an adapter always connected to a commercial power source for supplying DC power.
A DC power source comprises a pulse generating means (pulse generator 4, a switch S) for generating a pulse of a predetermined voltage in a predetermined period with a pulse width proportional to a load current of a power supply unit 1, a surge absorber 5 for receiving the pulse from this means, and a deciding means for detecting a varistor voltage of the absorber 5 to decide the lifetime of the power supply unit.
