To provide a low-loss and highly efficient DC power supply apparatus for generating an output of voltage which is almost 4 times a peak value of AC voltage of an AC power supply by using no opening/closing means or controlling a small number of opening and closing means while controlling these opening/closing means appropriately.
An AC power supply 1 is connected to a bridge rectifying circuit 3, which carries out full wave rectification of the AC power supply, through a reactor 2. An output end thereof is connected in parallel with two first capacitors 4a and 4b, which are connected in series, while both ends thereof are connected in parallel with two second capacitors 6a and 6b, which are connected in series, through adverse current obstructing means 5a and 5b, respectively.
