Abstract:

PURPOSE: To raise load voltage immediately after turning on a power supply, that is, to enhance the root mean square value of a DC output voltage by connecting two capacitors between output terminals of a full-wave rectifying circuit for full-wave-rectifying an AC power supply and providing a specific capacitance ratio between these capacitors.

CONSTITUTION: Individual capacitors C21, C22, C23,... have the same capacitance as that of the capacitor C1. The total capacitance C2 of the parallel capacitors C21, C22, C23,... is 2 to 3 times the capacitance of the capacitor C1. These but a capacitors can be replaced by a single capacitor having the equivalent capacitance. Therefore, the capacitance ratio between the capacitor C1 and C2 is more than 1:2, therefore, when a potential division ratio of capacitors to be charged in series during current closing changes and discharges in parallel, a capacitor voltage having a higher charging voltage with a lower capacitance becomes a load voltage. By doing this, a high power factor is obtained and the load voltage immediately after turning-on of the power supply can be raised.
