To lower the discharge current of an auxiliary cell, and to improve the priming effect by arranging an auxiliary positive electrode connected to a resistor for the auxiliary cell provided with a discharge cell having a display positive electrode and a negative electrode separately positioned from each other near the negative electrode.
An auxiliary and a display negative electrode bus bars AAB, DAB, branch electrodes AABT, DABT thereof, resistors RA, RB for an auxiliary cell and a display cell, an auxiliary positive electrode and a display positive electrode pads AAP, DAP, and an auxiliary and a display positive electrodes AA, DA are formed on a back surface board RG. An insulating material GB or the like, phosphor Ph, and cell barriers WW are provided on the resistor or the like. A rib for forming a negative electrode G is formed on a front surface board FG. Since a distance from the negative electrode G to the auxiliary electrode AA is shorter than a distance from the negative electrode G to the display positive electrode DA, the resistor RA for auxiliary cell has a sufficient length so as to stabilize a resistance value, and stabilized priming is performed by even a small current through a priming slit S provided in the cell barriers WW. Display of high quality is thereby obtained.
