To provide a dead body laying method and a dead body support capable of preventing the discoloration of the complexion of a dead body without depending on the increase of the using amount of dry ice and thereby preventing the bereaved and relatives who are to pay final respects by opening the window of a coffin from having the feeling of incompatibility.

In the dead body laying method for supporting at least the head part and other parts (shoulder parts and waist part) below the head part of the dead body and laying out the dead body, the dead body is laid out by raising the head part and the other part (using the dead body support 3) so as to make the head part higher than the other part from the head part to the other part. That is, by raising the upper half of the dead body, the accumulation of blood and effluents at the dead body head part is prevented and thus the decay of the dead body is suppressed. Also, when the bereaved opens the window 2 of the coffin 1, a distance between the dead body and the bereaved is shortened.
