Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a host computer to detect dead lock related to both of a resource closed to the host computer itself and resources shared among plural host computers by managing the exclusive wait state in the multi-host computer system by one dead lock detecting system. CONSTITUTION:When a resource B1 is closed to the host computer itself and resources B2 and B3 are shared among plural host computers, the exclusive control request to the resource B1 is processed by an intra-host exclusive control means 4. The exclusive control request to resources B2 and B3 is processed by a means 8 for exclusive control among plural hosts. Since the intra-host exclusive control means 4 and the means 8 of exclusive control among plural hosts register queuing requests in a common dead lock detecting system 3, the whole of a dead lock chain is recognized to detect dead lock.
