PURPOSE: A suction pipe of specific structure is provided in the deaerator containing pickle solution, whereby bubbles are removed from the recovered pickle solution, thus permitting the reuse.

CONSTITUTION: Pressure-redicing mechanism 6 is operated to make the inside of tank 1 negative pressure and pickle solution is sent into the tank. At this time, the solution level is kept lower than water separator 9 fitted on the top of the standing of suction pipe 7. Circulation mechanism 12 is operated to circulate the pickle solution, which is cooled with the coolant supplied to jacket 17 and kept at about 5°C. Outlet on the bottom of the tank is connected to an injectors and the pickle solution is injected into lumps of ham and at the same time the connecting pipe of suction pipe 8 is connected with the recovering part of the injector to recover the leaking pickle solution. The recovered solution is spread into thin films by the upper disk 11 and lower annular plate 10 of the water separator and the bubbles included is surely separated.
