Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decabromodiphenylethane product having a substantially reduced or eliminated occluded bromine content.SOLUTION: Provided is a decabromodiphenylethane product characterized by having: an occluded elemental bromine content in the range from zero to 110 ppm; a Hunter Color L value, using an unground sample, of at least 83; a Hunter Yellowness Index, using an unground sample, of 30 or less; and a decabromodiphenylethane assay by gas chromatography in the range from 98 to 99.9 area%.
