Title:
DECODER FOR DIGITAL DATA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04252618
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the circuit scale of a decoder at the time of obtaining original m-bit data by decoding of an n-bit (n>m) code word after encoding of m-bit data to the n-bit code word.

CONSTITUTION: The n-bit code word is divided into plural codes DG and DH, and one code DG of these divided codes is converted to a shorter-bit length code DG' by a first code conversion circuit 18, and the other code DB is converted to a shorter-bit length code DB' by a second code conversion circuit 19. These codes DG' and DH' after conversion are collectively converted by a third conversion circuit to obtain m-bit data DD.
