To provide a decoding device capable of easily generating a substitute signal with little unconformity in a case of error occurrence while decoding operation.
A correlation calculator 20 calculates a correlation between waveform elements of a last block before an error block in which an error has occurred during decoding operation and waveform elements of a block which proceeds by n blocks therefrom. An evaluation calculator 21 calculates a basic cycle of n0/m of the error block on block basis based on the correlation. A gain controller 23 generates substitute waveform elements for the error block by using the waveform elements of a block which proceeds by basic cycle n0/m on block basis from the error block based on the basic cycle n0/m on block basis. The invention is applicable to, for example, a decoding device for audio signals.
