Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the decoloration of a fermentation medium in high efficiency, and to decrease of the consumption of activated carbon used in the decoloration process, by filtering the medium with an ultrafiltration membrane.
CONSTITUTION: Colored fermentation medium is decolored by filtering with an ultrafiltration membrane having a fractionation molecular weight of 50,000W3,000 and made of polysulfone, polyacrylonitrile, etc.
