Title:
DECOMPOSING DEVICE OF ORGANIC HALOGENATED COMPOUND BY WATER VAPOR PLASMA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3494797
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stability of plasma and to completely decompose an org. halide in the plasma by atomizing the org. halide which is liquid at normal temp. and spraying the fine particles into the plasma.
SOLUTION: An org. halide 11 is introduced through an inlet tube 10 for an org. halide, while water vapor is introduced through a inlet tube 20 for water vapor. When the liquid org. halide is injected through the inlet tube 10, the compd. is atomized into fine particles having micron order particle size. The water vapor 21 and the org. halide 11 are mixed in an external mixing room 30 and sprayed through a rotary jet nozzle 31 into a discharge tube 34. The water vapor 11 and the org. halide compd. 21 are heated by induction heating by a coil 33 for high frequency induction plasma to form plasma 40. Since the plasma has high temp. as 10000K in the center, the water vapor 21 and the org. halide compd. 11 are dissociated into atoms or ions. Thereby, an org. halide such as PCB can be efficiently decomposed into a harmless matter.
