Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and safely decompose and detoxify a halogen-containing org. compd.
SOLUTION: A halogen-containing org. compd. is reacted with a hydrogen donating substance and an alkali agent in the presence of a metal catalyst to perform the dehydrohalogenation of the halogen-containing org. compd. Hydrogen obtained by decomposing water by using light energy is used as the above mentioned hydrogen donating substance or alcohol is used as the hydrogen donating substance and metal hydride is used as the alkali agent.
