To provide a decoration method which adds a lens effect and other optical effect to a picture pattern by forming a lens-shaped protrusion by thick printing on the picture pattern generated on a surface of a workpiece by printing, imprinting, transferring or the like.
A printed picture pattern 21 is obtained by printing, a transferred picture pattern 22 is obtained by foil transferring, and an imprinted picture pattern 23 (except the case of a glass workpiece) is obtained by imprinting. On a surface of a workpiece 1 made of a synthetic resin, a metal or a glass, picture patterns of one of the printed picture pattern 21, the transferred picture pattern 22 and the imprinted picture pattern 23 each being reflective or combinations of at least two of them are applied while being overlaid to form a picture pattern layer 2. A lens-shaped protrusion 3 is stacked by being positioned with respect to the picture pattern layer 2, and design performance of the picture pattern layer 2 is improved by lens effect of the lens-shaped protrusion 3 when viewing the picture pattern layer 2 through the lens-shaped protrusion 3.
