PURPOSE: To provide a decorative material expressing peculiar qualitative feeling and touch possessed by cloth by using a fabric as a surface base material.

CONSTITUTION: A core sheet formed by impregnating base paper having concealability with a thermosetting resin and a surface sheet formed by impregnating a fabric composed of fibers colored by pigment with a thermosetting resin are successively superposed on a plurality of rear sheets each formed by infiltrating a thermosetting resin in a paper base material and the whole is molded under heating and pressure to obtain a decorative material. Since the fibers are colored by pigment, the light fastness of the decorative material is markedly enhanced and the physical properties thereof are also excellent.
