PURPOSE: To display a carbonization pattern having no irregularities by executing a pattern to a material by a liquid containing an acid or paste and embossing the carbonization pattern through heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A material carbonized by applying heat in the presence of an acid is used as a material to be decorated, and a wood group material such as wood, a particle-board, a fiber-board, etc. can be employed. A strong acid and a nonvolatile acid are used as the acid. The 1-20% strong acid is proper, and paste is added, viscosity is increased and dust is prevented in a pasty shape because a pattern is dispersed and made indistinct when a single acid solution is employed as the acid. Wood patterned by the acid is thermally treated. Any heat treatment is enabled as a flame, far infrared rays, etc. as heat. The acid adhering on the surface of wood after heat treatment is removed. Wood is washed by water or neutralized by alkali such as sodium carbonate, ammonia, etc. and washed by water sufficiently, and dried through a normal method.
