To provide a decorative narrow belt with uneven patterns, which has uneven patterns excellent in design and a hologram-like appearance formed on the surface of a fabric by a simple process, and which has side edge portions prevented from being curled and is easy to use; and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.
A narrow belt-like composite fabric includes an upper fabric 1 and a lower fabric 2 which are formed of woven or knitted fabrics. Over the composite fabric in the width direction, single-layer structure portions B, in which the upper fabric 1 and the lower fabric 2 are combined, are formed, and double-layer hollow structure portions A, in which the upper fabric 1 and the lower fabric 2 are separated, are also formed. The single-layer structure portions and the double-layer hollow structure portions are alternately arranged. Non-shrinkable fiber yarns constitute warp yarns 11 and weft yarns 12 forming the upper fabric 1, and the warp yarns 21 forming the lower fabric 2. Heat-shrinkable fiber yarns constitute weft shrinkable yarns 22 forming the lower fabric 2. By the heat-shrinking action of the heat-shrinkable fiber yarns, the upper fabric 1 in each of the double-layer hollow structure portions A is raised, and thereby a plurality of projecting stripes 13, 13... are formed in a longitudinal direction.
