To provide defecation assisting device with which defecation by a person can be assisted who has difficulty in performing defecation without help in a western style toilet.

The defecation assisting device 1 is disposed in front of a person 100 sitting on the western style toilet 200, and includes: an almost planar pad 5; and a support provided with a ceiling part having an inclined holding surface 31a inclined so as to be raised toward the front and slidably holding the pad 5, a handle part 32 extended to the right and left more at the front than the upper end part 31b of the inclined holding surface 31a and positioned below the upper end part to be held by the sitting person 100, and a connection part for connecting the handle part 32 and the upper end part 31b of the inclined holding surface 31a, and leg parts 4a, 4b extended downwards from the ceiling part. By sliding the pad 5 downwards in the inclination direction of the inclined holding surface 31a, the end part of the pad 5 projects from the lower end part 31c of the inclined holding surface 31a and abutting on the abdominal part 101 of the sitting person 100.
