To provide a deflection preventing mechanism capable of preventing deflection of a counter and securing high rigidity of the counter to draw out household electric appliances easily when necessary.

The deflection preventing mechanism 10 of a counter 1 is positioned in an open space δ1(δ2) formed between the lower face of the counter 1 supported horizontally by a vertically erected support board and the upper face of a refrigerator (household electric appliances) stored in a space formed by the counter 1 and the support board 3. The deflection preventing mechanism comprises a fixture device 11 fixed to the lower face of the counter 1, a rotatable shaft 14 and a pair of sliders 13 threadably-engaged on the shaft 14, capable of being moved back and forth in the opposite directions and slidably taper-fitted to the fixture device 11.
