PURPOSE: To correct the misconvergence of an Xv pattern by providing a sub- coil connected in series to a horizontal deflecting coil and generating the barrel type deflection magnetic field in the same direction as the horizontal deflection magnetic field symmetrically on the right and left to the vertical axis near the rear end section of a deflection yoke.

CONSTITUTION: A sub-coil 27 connected in series to a horizontal deflecting coil 21 and generating the barrel type deflection magnetic field in the same direction as the horizontal deflection magnetic field symmetrically on the right and left to the vertical axis near the rear end section of a deflection yoke. The downward or upward force applied to both side beams 11B and 11R from the barrel type deflection magnetic field 30 of the coil 27 negates the upward or downward force applied from the pin cushion type horizontal deflection magnetic field of the horizontal deflecting coil 27. When the number of windings, winding distribution and the flowing current of the coil 27 are controlled by a variable resistor 28 connected in parallel, the upward or downward force applied from the pin cushion type horizontal deflection magnetic field can be offset by the deflection magnetic field of the coil 27, and an XvBow pattern generated on the horizontal axis can be corrected.
