Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing composition for a silver halide photographic sensitive material which improves photographic performance such as gradation, causes neither turbidity nor precipitation in a developing solution and can suppress uneven development due to foam generated in a developing solution, particularly a first black-and-white developing solution for reversal color photography and to provide a defoaming method.
SOLUTION: The defoaming agent composition for a silver halide photographic processing solution contains at least one polyoxyethylene/ polyoxypropylene copolymer type surfactant in which the proportion of ethylene oxide groups is 5-70 mass% and the molecular weight of propylene oxide group moieties is 800-7,000. The composition shows the objective effects in any of the shape of a prepared processing agent and the shape of a singly used processing agent.
