Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair persistence and growth accelerator capable of imparting effects and stimulations to hair growth and/or deharing without adverse effects by using a specific alkanediol as an effective ingredient. SOLUTION: In this agent a compound of formula I [R1 is a 4-28C hydrocarbon; R2 is H, formula II (R3 is a 1-29C hydrocarbon; X is H or OH)] is used. As the compound of formula 1,2-amino-1,3-octadecanediol, 2-acetylamino-1,3- octadecanediol, 2-octanoylamino-1,3-octadecanediol, 2-tetracosanoylamino-1,3- octadecanediol, 2-N-(2-hydroxyhexadecanoyl)amino-1,3-octadecanediol, 2- oleoylamino-1,3-octadecanediol, etc., are especially cited. The content of the compound of formula I is 0.0001-20wt.% based on the total amount of the composition. This hair cosmetic is effective for alopecia caused by a cancer therapy.
