The dehumidifying apparatus has a clock function and a saving operation switch. The operation of power consumption lower than that of a normal operation is performed at the time other than the time zone during which the electricity charge is relatively inexpensive in the electricity charge contract of each household when the saving operation switch is depressed. Thus, the time zone during which the electricity charge is relatively inexpensive is recognized, the operation is performed by concentrating the dehumidifying ability of the dehumidifying apparatus in the time zone during which the electricity charge for which a user is under the contract with an electric power company, is inexpensive, and the effect of increasing an electricity charge saving effect for the user is obtained.
