PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrogenation apparatus that can perform dehydrogenation reaction of a cyclic organic hydride of liquid having a substituent including a polar functional group more efficiently than before.SOLUTION: A dehydrogenation apparatus comprises: an anode including a dehydrogenation catalyst; a cathode including a catalyst for reducing a proton; a proton conductor placed between the anode and the cathode; a first feeder for feeding a cyclic organic hydride of liquid having a substituent including a polar functional group to the anode; a second feeder for feeding cathode fluid to the cathode; and a voltage applying unit for applying a voltage to the anode and the cathode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
