PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of jamming and damage as an engaging part pushes an article on the upper layer, by forcing back the article that has failed to be delivered even if it is pushed by the engaging part of the delivery body, with a push-back body, and making it so as to be pressed by the engaging part reciprocating again.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of outward motion of a delivery device 13, if contact between an engaging part 33 and a peripheral surface 1a' of a sheetlike article 1a at the lowermost layer is released halfway, the sheetlike article 1a at the lowermost layer is not delivered although it is pressed forward. At this time, since delivery check photosensors 47 and 47 will not issue their signals, if a switch piece 25a of a one-turn detecting limit switch 25 is pressed, motor drive is not stopped, and the said action is repeated. Accordingly, when a push-back body 48 is rocked in the return motion direction along with return motion of the delivery body 13, it pushes the article 1a at the lowermost layer not delivered so far back to the rear. With this push-back motion, each peripheral surface rear end of the article 1a at the lowermost layer and another article 1b on the upper layer comes to the same level, whereby the engaging part 33 going to its outward motion again is able to come into contact with the peripheral surface 1a' of the article 1a, thus such a possibility that the article 1b is pressed by the engaging part 33 is prevented from occurring.
