Abstract:

PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by adding polysulfone to a thermoplastic resin such as general purpose polystyrene or ABS, thus giving delustered moldings with surfaces just like ground pane glass by means of a mold with smooth surfaces but no embossed surface.

CONSTITUTION: 1W100pts.wt. preferably 5W65pts.wt. of polysulfone are added to 100pts.wt. of one selected from general purpose polystyrene, heat-resistant polystyrene, acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer.

EFFECT: Both of moldings with smooth surfaces and delustered ones can be produced by means of the same mold, when needed, solving the problems of cost-up caused by mold designing.
