To provide a demand control device for an air conditioner preventing a user from feeling uncomfortable since a temperature change in a room is low and beside reducing power consumption on a whole, and capable of decreasing a demand contract power amount.
The demand control device calculates power consumption by calculating a pulse signal from a wattmeter with a transmitter. A prediction power amount is calculated from power consumption per a specified time. When a prediction power amount reaches an alarm level predicting to exceed a demand contract power amount, a plurality of air conditioners are brought, in order, into a stop and even when the power consumption reaches a given amount despite of an alarm level, a plurality of air conditioners are switched, in order, and brought into a stop only in a short time.
