To provide a demolition method for a steel tower type high-rise chimney whose overall construction cost can be reduced and which is adaptable for even a chimney whose wide working area can not be obtained in the vicinity thereof.
A post crane 19 is installed on the top of an elevator shaft 16, and a wire jack 22 is installed at the lower part of a steel tower 15, and the wire tip of the wire jack is detachably connected to the lower part of the elevator shaft 16, and the steel tower 15 and the cylindrical body 11 are demolished from the top thereof in turn by using the post crane 19, and demolished blocks 108 are lowered on true ground, and after the chimney has been demolished by a specified height, the lower end of the elevator shaft 16 is cut off in accordance with the demolished height. Thereafter, the elevator shaft 16 is lowered and landed and the position of the post crane 19 is lowered. Thereafter, this procedure is repeated to demolish the chimney.
