PURPOSE: To obtain the subject dents capable of stably flying a weft yarn, by using end faces of recessed parts formed in dents as surfaces for throttling an air stream and the end faces of bottom edges as surfaces in the direction to diffuse the air stream.

CONSTITUTION: The end faces of upper jaw edges 6 of recessed parts of dents 1 are tilted in the direction to throttle air streams and the end faces of the bottom edges 7 are tilted in the direction to diffuse the air streams. The end faces of the bottom edges 7 act so that the air may escape from the slits 9 between the dents to the back side of the reed. Thereby, the disturbance of the air in air guides 5 can be reduced without producing strong air streams deflected to the side of the cloth fell in the air streams passing through the air guides 5.
