PURPOSE: To provide the subject dental composition for preventing tooth decay and periodontitis, capable of preventing formation of a glucan by inhibition of glucotransferase and, therefore, of effectively preventing sordes on a tooth.
CONSTITUTION: The objective dental composition for preventing tooth decay and periodontitis is characterized by its composition containing a water-insoluble polymer having vinyl pyridinium as a repeating unit in the molecule.
