Title:
DENTAL DOWEL CONSISTING OF X-RAY IMPERMEABLE COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000102548
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide satisfactory X-ray impermeability and prevent the deterioration of mechanical property by including, in the reinforcing fiber of a composite material, at least one X-ray impermeable material selected from the group consisting of zircon and barium glass.

An X-ray impermeable reinforcing fiber consisting of a composite material is used. The reinforcing fiber consists of a material obtained by adding barium glass or zirconium oxide, zircon that is a material impermeable of X-ray to glass, quartz or silicon dioxide. When zircon or barium glass is added to the reinforcing fiber within the range of 60-80% by volume, the X-ray impermeable reinforcing fiber used for producing the composite material can be provided without adding any filler to the base material resin.
