PURPOSE: To obtain a dental and medical material, capable of readily forming a material even of a complicated shape and readily processing a high-strength material according to a metallic powder injecting molding method and made of Ti nontoxic to the human body.
CONSTITUTION: This dental and medical material is obtained by mixing Ti powder with an organic binder, injection molding the resultant mixture, passing the formed molding through a degreasing and a sintering steps and forming an orthodontic bracket or an artificial dental root composed of a Ti sintered compact. Specifically, pure Ti powder having ≤40μm average particle diameter, ≤0.3wt.% carbon content and ≤0.8wt.% oxygen content is used to produce the sintered compact with ≤1.0wt.% total content of carbon and oxygen. A colored layer, as necessary, is formed on the surface of the sintered compact by various methods.
